2019 Chevrolet Cruze
After its total redesign for 2017, the Chevrolet Cruze carried into the 2018 model year without any changes. With this make over still brand-new, we expect no big changes when the 2019 Cruze strikes showrooms.
2019 Chevrolet Cruze Design
As a carryover, we anticipate the car’s appearance to be practically similar to the current model, which features somewhat sharper styling compared to the somewhat dull previous generation. Though we anticipate no big design changes, there may be a couple of little updates to the available colors, which is common during model year changeovers.
2019 Chevrolet Cruze Interior
The Cruze’s interior also underwent a total redo in 2017, bringing in a more high end look and feel, more convenience, and extra technology. Like the exterior, we expect this to rollover in 2019, however there could be some little tweaks to its colors and materials, and some shifting around of standard and optional features.
2019 Chevrolet Cruze Engine
In the powertrain department, we anticipate nothing new. If this proves accurate, look for the 2019 Cruze to come with a standard turbocharged 1.4-liter engine that produces 153 horse power and 177 pound-feet of torque. Buyers looking for improved fuel economy will still have the optional 1.6-liter diesel motor that produces 137 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come standard with a six-speed handbook transmission. The optional automated transmissions differ, as the gasoline model uses a six-speed vehicle, while the diesel has a nine-speed unit.
The new-generation Cruze has yet to go through complete IIHS security screening, but it has completed two crash tests– moderate overlap front and side– and it got “Good” scores in both. Sadly, due to the fact that the Cruze lacks automatic emergency braking, it gets only a “Basic” score in the front-crash avoidance test, which keeps it out of the discussion for Top Safety Pick classification. This should all stay the exact same in 2019.
2019 Chevrolet Cruze Pricing & Release Date
Though there is no official release date for the 2019 Cruze, we expect to see it in showrooms in the summer of 2018. Provided there are no changes on the docket, we also expect rates to remain just like the 2018 Cruze’s MSRP variety of $19,400 to $26,795 (location costs included).
